Living with Chronic Illness,  Achieving my Dreams I am Laura B. Webb and I'm guessing the title makes no sense to you.  After all, how can I achieve my dreams if I am ill?  Allow me to explain. As a sufferer of chronic illness and pain for over 20 years - I was finally diagnosed  10 years ago - I experienced the full range of emotions, frustrations, and limitations that became my way of life. I also stubborn and lived in a state of denial.  I believed I could do anything myself. In the years before diagnosis and the early years after diagnosis, I did not manage my illness. I existed. Work, dog walk, sofa, bed.    Eventually,  I paid more careful attention to my body. I anticipate potential flare-ups.  I exercised less vigorously but regularly.  I avoided stressful situations when possible. I developed a life that worked for me. I am not cured and I have flares.  The difference is that I learned that taking care of me is a top priority.  Eventually,  I found tools, behaviors, and actions that work for me. I am happier than I ever imagined possible despite my illness. Professionally, I have more than 20 years of counseling and non-profit management experience.  There is nothing more satisfying than working with someone to improve their quality of life despite overwhelming obstacles. .  I can help you live more fully too.  Let's take the road together to greater happiness despite chronic illness and pain.  Hope and faith go together.  With hope and faith in your heart, you will find the perfect path you seek. -Sydney Banks
